A Forgotten Land: Growing Up in the Jewish Pale

Based on Lisa Cooper's recorded conversations with her father, "A Forgotten Land" follows her Jewish family during the rise of the last Russian Tzar Nicholas Romanov, WWI, the February Revolution of 1917, and the eventual Civil War which led to the creation of the USSR. Over the course of 226 pages, Cooper successfully explores the period of unrest leading up to and including the collapse of old Russia by interweaving personal family tragedy to the larger downfall of the old regime.
